THE LOCATION

The unspoiled, naturally rugged landscape is a true Canadian oasis

UNPARALLELED ON THE 59th PARALLEL

Ena Lake is in Northern Saskatchewan, a vast and rocky boreal forest wilderness in the great Canadian Shield. Located on the 59th parallel, mere kilometres from the Northwest Territories, Ena Lake is 27 km in length and contains 22,000 acres of pristine fresh water – your own ample and uncrowded outdoor playground. Here, black spruce, birch and jack pine surround rocky outcrops and sandy shores, ancient remnants of the area’s glacial past. Black bears, moose and caribou wander freely; eagles sore and trophy fish swim in abundance. A late spring or early summer visit will dazzle you with near 24-hour sunlight; visitors in the fall will be mesmerized by night-time displays of the spectacular Northern Lights. There are no roads to Ena Lake, and our lodge is the only development on these waters. The nearest communities are Stony Rapids, a hamlet of less than 300 people, and Uranium City, a former mining town with the region’s only airport. Nestled in a large swath of provincially protected Crown land, and neighbouring two remote Denesuline First Nations, our lodge is one of just a handful of privileged caretakers of this sacred, special place, respecting the ancient landscape and conserving its natural beauty and bounty.

Northwest Territories Fly Out Lakes

We are proud to announce that Ena Lake Lodge was recently awarded Tourism Licenses for fly-out fishing north of the 60th parallel. This stunning area has been untouched for centuries and has been waiting for an adventurer like you to explore all that these lakes have to offer.

BOTTOM LINE: MORE TIME FISHING, LESS TIME TRAVELLING

Ena Lake Lodge offers its guests the best of both worlds: while our location is secluded and exclusive, guests can get here in less than a day’s travel time from most major Northern American cities. In fact, we are proud to be one of a few remote fishing lodges that operate a private charter just for our guests. Your charter departs the Edmonton around noon and will arrive at Uranium City just south of Ena Lake about 90 minutes later. From there a float plane will take you on the quick 15 minute trip up to the lodge. Once you get on the dock, the boats will be waiting to take you out fishing while the lodge staff take care of your bags and start preparing your evening feast. This private charter is built into your all-inclusive pricing for your experience at the Ena Lake. If you are coming from another city, or would like to transit through Fort McMurray, we can customize travel options that suit your needs. Different pricing may apply depending on the routing. Our in-house travel coordinator will make creating your custom itinerary a breeze!
